After program care alternates in focusing on automaticity activities, critical thinking skills applied to executive functioning and keyboarding and handwriting. Supervised use of technology tools for practice as appropriate.

Connections that Work offers small group intensive instruction in specialized reading, writing, spelling, and study skills (including keyboarding and technology) tutoring. All instruction is personalized and based on assessments, records, and progress. We only use interventions that are scientifically evidenced for efficient remediation, even for students behind more than 1 year in these areas.


The intensive nature of our programs is designed to really close the gap in reading and literacy skills along with improving executive functioning. This enables students to return to their school fully prepared to excel. We provide the instruction to close academic gaps thus helping our students have the competence and confidence to return happily to their school.



Each student, in groups of 3 or 4, receive the following instruction each day individualized to their needs:
